Frequently Asked Questions

You will find answers to many common questions about MusicFirst software here. Should you have additional questions, please reach out to us at info@musicfirst.com and we will be happy to assist you.

What is the cloud?

The cloud is simply a place where both software and files can now live, away from your own hard drive, so you can access everything remotely using an internet connection and any major browser (like Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari).

How do I choose the product that's right for me?

We're so glad you asked! You can search on our website for software by grade level or by topic – we have software for almost every activity covered in music education. If you need more assistance, you can reach us by phone at

855-896-3344,

or by email at

info@musicfirst.com.

How do I place an order?

You can place your order by emailing or faxing a purchase order, or by using Paypal. If necessary, our sales team will gladly generate a quote for you to submit to your financial department.

Will the MusicFirst Classroom work on a tablet or smartphone?

In short, yes! The MusicFirst Classroom works on mobile devices, but with minor limitations. Currently, the drag-and-drop scheduling feature and file library access for uploading are not available on tablets or smartphones.

Will the integrated software work on tablets and smartphones?

Most software titles available through MusicFirst will work on tablets and smartphones, with a few exceptions. You can explore OS and web browser compatibility for each software title here.

How long is a subscription, and who can I register as a user?

Most of the software at MusicFirst is available for a year-long cloud subscription, which starts shortly after your purchase. Multi-year subscription options are also available. Nearly all of our software subscriptions contain multiple log-ins for your students to use.

How do I register students?

For each software title you have subscrined to, we can send you a PDF detailing the student registration process. Once your students have log-ins, they can access the software from any computer, and you can access the files they create and set them assignments.

Can I view my students' work?

Yes, for nearly all software titles you can find out how often your students have logged in, how much work they have completed, and you can view and listen to what they have created.

What happens to my saved files if my subscription lapses?

In the event you no longer wish to continue your subscription, you have the ability to save any files you create to your own hard drive. As a courtesy, we will continue to store the files in the cloud for a short while after any subscription ends.

How do I get product support or ask technical questions?

You may reach us by phone Monday- Friday 9:30am-5:30pm EST at 855-896-3344, or email us at

support@musicfirst.com.

Is there a free trial available for any of the software titles?

In most cases, yes. Simply navigate to the "Software" page on our site, and click on the software icon for the program you are interested in trying and request a demo.

Do you offer a discount for multi-school subscriptions?

Yes. If several schools in your district wish to use any of our cloud solutions, there are discounts available for those buying yearly or multi-year subscriptions at the same time.

Do you offer discounts for multi-year subscriptions?

Yes; simply call us for details. Typical subscriptions are usually between 1-3 years, but we can price any length of subscription for you.

What happens if there is an update or change to the software I've subscribed to?

Because you’re using cloud-based music software, you'll always have the latest version. Most updates to the software occur without noticeable changes, and there’s usually nothing to download. If something major changes in the software, we’ll let you know– but we never charge you for enhancements to the software because it all lives online.
